SUBMERGED: More than a Foot of Rain Floods Ft. Lauderdale

DEVELOPING STORY: More than a foot of rainfall has flooded most of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Hundreds of motorists are stranded across the city and the international airport has been shut down. Several runways are underwater.

“This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION,” the NWS warned. “Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.”
