DEVELOPING STORY: Multiple tornadoes touched down across the Chicago area causing extensive damage. A number of homes were damaged and glass from some skyscrapers crashed to the ground. Large trees were snapped as well, illustrating how powerful the tornado was. A tornado was also spotted near O’Hare International Airport. Video from TV stations showed hundreds of people taking shelter in concourses. Some 166 flights were canceled and nearly 500 were delayed, according to the flight tracking service FlightAware.
