The parent company of Facebook says they are going to dismantle its extensive fact-checking program. It is great news for free speech and very bad news for Democrats and the Legacy Media. Here’s the headline in Rolling Stone: “MARK ZUCKERBERG AND META ARE FINDING NEW WAYS TO KISS TRUMP’S ASS.”
Mark Zuckerberg all but admitting the fact-checkers were actually far-left activists who silenced conservatives.
“What started as a movement to be more inclusive has increasingly been used to shut down opinions and shut out people with different ideas,” Zuckerberg said. “And it’s gone too far. So I want to make sure that people can share their beliefs and experiences on our platforms.”
VOTE IN MY POLL:
It turns out that the Biden Administration was behind an effort to force Meta to target America First Conservatives.
He said it’s “been so difficult over the past four years when even the US government has pushed for censorship by going after us and other American companies.”
Zuckerberg admitted that there was too much censorship and noted the recent presidential election was a cultural tipping point.
He says Facebook will once again value free speech and will restore free expression on the company’s platforms.
First, we’re going to get rid of fact checkers and replace them with community notes similar to acts starting in the US. After Trump first got elected in 2016, the legacy media wrote nonstop about how misinformation was a threat to democracy. We tried in good faith to address those concerns without becoming the arbiters of truth. But the fact checkers have just been too politically biased and have destroyed more trust than they’ve created, especially in the US. So over the next couple of months, we’re going to phase in a more comprehensive community note system.
Zuckerberg’s announcement came after the company named Joel Kaplan as its chief global affairs officer. Kaplan is a Republican. And UFC president Dana White was named to its board of directors.
In November, Zuckerberg had dinner with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago. It’s not clear what they discussed – but no doubt whatever was said led to Zuckerberg’s mea culpa.
But the bottom line is that after. For years of having our content moderation work focused primarily on removing content. It is time to focus on reducing mistakes, simplifying our systems and getting back to our roots about giving people a voice.

One of the most important decisions Meta made is to relocate its trust and safety and content moderation teams.
We’re going to move our trust and safety and content moderation teams out of California, and our US based content review is going to be based in Texas. As we work to promote free expression, I think that will help us build trust to do this work in places where there is less concern about the bias of our teams.
I have a pretty large following on Facebook and over the years I’ve been banned, blocked and punished more times than I can remember. At one point I was called the “Bad Boy of Facebook.” But, no more! Now I know what clemency feels like.
As for all of Facebook’s far-left fact-checkers – you might want to update your LinkedIn profile. And don’t let the door hit you where the. Good Lord split you.
