There’s chaos in U.S. Capitol commodes.
Now, before we jump into this mess let me set a few guidelines for this website. We do not use preferred pronouns on The Todd Starnes Show. We believe God made male and female. Jim Bob cannot just wake up one day, put on a skirt and call himself Darlene.
Men are men. Women are women. No pronoun confusion on this show. And that brings me to the ladies room on Capitol Hill.
The new Congress will include the first transgender representative. Sarah McBride – a Democrat from Delaware. He’s a man who believes he is a woman.
Congresswoman Nancy Mace – the Republican from South Carolina introduced a House Rule that would ban men from the ladies room.
“I’m not going to stand for a man uhh ya know someone with a penis is in the women’s locker room.. that’s not okay,” Mace told reporters. “And I’m a victim of abuse myself. I have PTSD from the abuse I’ve suffered at the hands of a man and I know how vulnerable women and girls are in private spaces. So I’m absolutely a 100 percent going to stand in the way of any man who wants to be in a woman’s restroom, in our locker rooms, in our changing rooms I will be there fighting every step of the way.”
Marjorie Taylor Greene – the Republican from Georgia – got right to the heart of the matter – saying she considered it an assault for a man to charge into places that are designated specifically for women. Restrooms are a place where women are vulnerable. It’s mentally ill for a man to think he should be allowed there.
McBride released a statement condemning Mace and the other Republican women: “This is a blatant attempt from far right-wing extremists to distract from the fact that they have no real solutions to what Americans are facing. We should be focused on bringing down the cost of housing, health care, and child care, not manufacturing culture wars.”
Speaker Mike Johnson was asked whether or not he intended to let lawmakers vote on Mace’s resolution. At first he was non-committal – delivering a statement that could have been written by Mike Pence. In response, I wrote a now-viral message to the Speaker of the House – suggesting he grow a pair – and stand up for what’s right.
A few hours later – he came back to the cameras and offered this clarification: “Let me be unequivocally clear. A man is a man and a woman is a woman and a man cannot become a woman.”
Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries accused women of being bullies and said Mr. McBride had every right to powder his nose and other body parts in the ladies room.
“The notion that this incoming small house republican conference majority is beginning to transition to the new congress by bullying a member of congress.. this is what were doing? This is the lesson that you’ve drawn.”
A transgender activist posted a disturbing message on social media calling for Mace to be killed. The activist said he wanted to drag Mace through the bathroom and bash her head into the floor until she was dead. We can only hope that police have been notified.
That man’s response is why transgenders have no business being in bathrooms, locker rooms or showers designated for girls and women.
It’s time for Congress to send a message to the rest of the nation – and especially taxpayer funded schools. If men have no business being in a congressional bathroom – they have no business being on your daughter’s volleyball team.
