The most demographic most excited about President-elect Donald J. Trump is Generation Z, according to a CBS News poll released Sunday.

At least 67 percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 says they are optimistic about the next four years, the poll found.

From CBS News:

Trump made gains over 2020 with younger voters, and today, young Americans are more likely to voice optimism about him than are older Americans. (They’re also just generally more likely to voice optimism whenever asked to look ahead.) Trump did better with men and made gains with women, and today both are optimistic, men especially so.

Today, almost a quarter of the voters who backed Kamala Harris are optimistic now about the next four years with Trump, reflecting perhaps some willingness for them to reevaluate him once he takes office, something we often see with a losing candidate’s supporters, at least early on.

“I have kids in that age range. They all voted for Trump,” one mom wrote on social media. “They know that the possibility of the nation falling off a cliff hinges on his presidency succeeding or failing. My family is excited for the changes coming with the new Trump Administration!

Bo Loudon, a close friend of Barron Trump, explained in November when there is such an appeal to the Make America Great Again movement.

“Gen-Z showed up for President-Elect Trump because he shows up for us,” the 18-year-old said on Fox News. “We’re tired of seeing him be kicked around and bullied for wanting to save America. We didn’t want Kamala, who thought we were ‘stupid.’ GEN-Z LOVES DONALD TRUMP!”

Another mom weighed in: “My Gen Z daughter said they would be the ones to save America.”

Brilyn Hollyhand, the 18-year-old chair of the RNC’s Youth Advisory, had been predicting for the past year that Trump would score a huge victory among his peers.

“The party of ‘joy’ has called my generation deplorables, fascists, Nazis, and now garbage,” Hollyhand said late last year, referring to Democrats. “They’re truly a party of hate and division.”

And he predicted that the Republican party could also see big gains as a result of Trump’s work.

“We’re entering an era where the Republican party is the party of Gen Z for three simple reasons: we listen to their concerns – we address their concerns – and we’re not shoving woke propaganda down their throats,” he said.
