The following is a transcript of my opening monologue on Newsmax. Click here to read the one book President Trump says you must read before the 2024 presidential election.
Good evening, America. I’m Todd Starnes and tonight something smells rotten in Delaware.
The nation appears to be without a leader at this hour – rumors flooding Washington, D.C. Conspiracy theories abound. Joe Biden the apparent victim of a bloodless coup led by leaders of the Democrat Party. The Commander in Chief may or may not be incapacitated. He has not been seen in public since last Wednesday.
And on Capitol Hill – rage is boiling over after Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle deflected nearly every question posted by Republicans. Was there more than one gunman at President Trump’s rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania? Were agents given a stand down order. Was there a conspiracy against the former president? Congressman Byron Donalds will join us later tonight with more on that part of the story.
Back in Delaware – it appears a real life version of House of Cards is unfolding – with Kamala Harris playing the role of Claire Underwood – a woman whose ascent to the highest office in the land – started in the lowest of positions – allegedly.
The New York Post reports that after the disastrous presidential debate, party bosses gave Biden a choice: either resign or be removed from office by the 25th Amendment.
“That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president,” the source said Monday.
Following the debate, first son Hunter Biden suddenly became more involved in his father’s day-to-day business and insisted upon attending every official and unofficial meeting, the source said.
“Hunter felt he [Joe Biden] was being set up and he was very concerned about his father,” the source said. “These people, these officials were not on Joe’s side.”
Biden’s own staff did not have any forewarning about the bombshell decision to pull out of the race, which was known since at least Tuesday, the source said.
New York Post
On Sunday – while most Americans were leaving church or heading out to the golf course – President Biden released a very bizarre message on his X account. An account that is controlled by a White House intern.
The president said he was pulling out of the presidential race and he said he would explain his actions later this week during a national address.
Why would President Biden announce such a momentous and historic decision on a Sunday afternoon on a social media platform? Most Americans do not have X accounts. Why not issue a statement on the White House website?
Also very strange – the letter was not written on White House stationary. And his signature appeared to be photoshopped. Also, Biden’s signature was underlined and typically he does not underline his name.
The White House staff only found out once the message had been posted. And Cabinet members were notified by the Chief of Staff — not Biden. And that brings us back to last Wednesday.
The last time the public saw Biden when he feebly walked down the stairs of Air Force One and had to be physically assisted into the presidential limo. He has not been seen in public since.
So, how do we know Biden wrote that letter? There was no official White House photograph. No video evidence. Nothing – but a statement posted on X.
Making matters even stranger – the president’s brother, Frank Biden, told CBS News that health “absolutely” was the deciding factor in the decision to leave the race. And then he told CBS – quote “Selfishly, I will have him back to enjoy whatever time he has left.”
What the heck does that mean?
So with all due respect – where is President Biden right now? Is he awake and alert? Is he bedridden? Did the president suffer some sort of medical condition that left him incapacitated? Is he on his death bed? The American people deserve answers.
The White House physician released a statement earlier this afternoon saying the president’s health was absolutely normal. But normal compared to what?
And that brings us back to the most pressing question of the day “Who is running the country right now?”
Many Republicans are now calling for Biden to step down from office. And if he refuses – they believe the Cabinet should invoke th 25th Amendment. Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance told a cable news outlet that if Joe Biden can’t run for president, he can’t serve as president.
So far, nearly the entire Democrat Party machine has embraced Kamala Harris – except for the one person who matters the most – former President Barack Obama. And Vivek Ramaswamy has a theory about that – he doesn’t believe Harris will be the nominee. That decision, he said, will be made in August – at the DNC Convention – in Chicago – the hometown of Michelle Obama.
