The hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe triggered both the left and the right – announcing that they had been granted an audience with President-elect Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
It was the first time in seven years they had met with Trump and both parties reportedly agreed to reopen the communication lines.
What I find fascinating is that Joe Scarborough and his wife Mika have been spewing the most vile anti-Trump rhetoric for years. They’ve spent countless hours convincing their viewers that Trump is Hitler and his followers are fascists.
They sipped iced tea with a man they think is Hitler. That says more about Mika and Joe than it does about Trump.
Lost in all the media coverage is the fact that Trump’s gracious invitation exposed Joe and Mika for who they really are – a pair of groveling grifters, amoral opportunists.
They host a morning show on a failing cable television network that’s already lost half its audience since the election.
Joe and Mika were not there to apologize. They were there to kiss Trump’s ring and beg the president-elect to make them relevant again.
