Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are heading up one of the most important projects in modern American history. It’s called the Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE.
They plan to cut trillions of dollars in wasteful government spending. Taxpayers will no longer have to fund university studies on the effects of meth on monkeys. No more government-sponsored drag queens in Ecuador.
And I’d like to recommend a few other ways to save a few dollars – we need to defund NPR and PBS.
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting receives about $500 million annually from Uncle Sam. That’s a lot of tote bags, America.
I own a news radio station in Memphis – KWAM. It’s a for-profit business. In other words, we don’t get a government handout. So, why are my tax dollars being used to subsidize my industry competitor?
All things considered, if NPR and PBS need a few million dollars to make payroll, they should consider asking Big Bird for a loan.
