More than 24,000 Americans over the age of 115-years-old were receiving unemployment benefits. $59 million worth of benefits.
It’s shocking to know that so many Americans over the century mark were either fired or laid off from their jobs.
But the real reason the old-timers are unemployed is because they are dead!
The Department of Government Efficiency uncovered significant fraud within the Department of Labor.
Some 28,000 people between the ages of one-year-old and five-years-old claimed $254 million worth of benefits. The Biden economy must have been really rough for the Lego and Mr. Potato Head crowd.
Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah replied to Musk, writing, “Reckless incompetence.”
Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer said they will recover every stolen tax dollar and will root out the egregious fraud.
“This is another incredible discovery by the DOGE team, finding nearly $400 million in fraudulent unemployment payments,” Department of Labor Sec. Lori Chavez-DeRemer said in a statement to Fox News. “The Labor Department is committed to recovering Americans’ stolen tax dollars. We will catch these thieves and keep working to root out egregious fraud – accountability is here.”
DOGE also reports that someone with a birth date in the year 2154 claimed $41,000 in unemployment benefits. Someone literally born in the future.
“Your tax dollars were going to pay fraudulent unemployment claims for fake people born in the future! This is so crazy that I had to read it several times before it sank in,” Elon Musk tweeted.
