The shooter who killed three children and three adults at a Nashville-area private Christian school has been identified as a 28-year-old female, according to authorities.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said officers engaged and killed the shooter, an unidentified 28-year-old female, who had at least two “assault-style” rifles and a pistol, at The Covenant School.
Police say the shooter was a former student of the school.
The department tweeted that the shooter has “been identified as a 28-year-old Nashville woman.”
UPDATE: 3 students & 3 adult staff members from Covenant School were fatally shot by the active shooter, who has now been identified as a 28-year-old Nashville woman.

Police arrived just before 10:30 a.m. local time. Officials said the shooter entered the building, which has students up to 6th grade, through a side door before climbing stairs to the second floor, where she opened fire.
