The Chicago Fire Department responded to an apartment explosion Tuesday and at least eight people have been taken to the hospital, according to officials.

The Chicago Police bomb unit and ATF are on the scene, as well as the American Red Cross of Illinois.
“Red Crossers are on scene at a building explosion in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood,” the Red Cross tweeted. “Working with first responders on assisting the families now left without a home tonight.
Search crews are looking for survivors as the cause remains unknown, Fox 32 reports.
