Maine has become ground zero in the national debate over transgender athletes. Should boys be allowed to compete against girls. Should they be allowed to disrobe in the same locker rooms and bathrooms?

The state’s ruling Democrats have pushed back against the Trump Administration and have defied orders to abolish sex and gender propaganda in the classroom.

In response the administration has frozen millions of dollars in federal funding.

The other day in Augusta, a parent was silenced at a school board meeting after he condemned the district’s decision to let boys compete against girls.

Augusta School Board Chair Martha Witham cut off local parent Nick Blanchard after he announced he was launching a petition to have a local principal removed from her job.

The parent was told that negative comments were not allowed and when he asked what constituted a negative statement, the board chair declined to answer. Fox News reports:

“I’m sorry, but negative comments will not be allowed,” Witham said.

Witham told Blanchard that his statements would “not be tolerated” and warned him that he would be asked to step down from the podium if he continued making “defamatory remarks.”

When Blanchard asked how his remarks were “defamatory,” Witham responded by saying “I don’t have to explain it to you.”

“These comments will not be tolerated at the meeting directed toward us or to anybody else in this room,” Witham said.

State Rep. Laurel Libby was censured for her activism in defense of young female athletes.

It’s time for the Trump Administration to play hardball and they should use the state of Maine as a national example of what happens when you disobey presidential executive orders. Completely defund the state of Maine.
