DEVELOPING STORY: Tens of thousands of people are in the path of a fast-moving fire that is burning homes in the Pacific Palisades. The Los Angeles Fire Dept. posted an emergency message on X urging residents to immediately evacuate from the area. The fires are being fueled by winds gusting up to 100 mph. The area under evacuation is between Malibu and Santa Monica. Pacific Palisades is also home to a number of Hollywood stars. Actor James Woods filmed the fires from his driveway. He evacuated and is safe. The New York Times is providing extensive coverage.
