DEVELOPING STORY: President Trump officially pardoned 23 pro-lifers who were sent to prison by the Biden Administration for praying and singing hymns outside abortion clinics. The peaceful pro-lifers were imprisoned under the FACE Act.
“They should not have been prosecuted. Many of them are elderly people. They should not have been prosecuted,” the president said. “This is a great honor to sign this.”
Among those sent to prison were three elderly women — including Joan Andrews Bell – 76 years old – a grandmother of seven. She was sentenced to more than two years in prison. 31 year old Lauren Handy was serving a nearly five year sentence for organizing a sit-in protest at a DC abortion mill. Both ladies among those pardoned.
Steven Crampton, the senior counsel at the Thomas More Society, was thrilled with the news.

Today, their precious freedom is restored. What happened to them can never be erased, but today’s pardons are a huge step towards restoring justice. Thank you to President Trump and his team for righting these grievous wrongs of the previous administration.”
National Religious Broadcasters President Troy Miller applauded President Trump:
“In his remarks to the NRB Convention last February, President Trump drew attention to the plight of peaceful, pro-life protesters imprisoned under the FACE Act and promised that ‘the moment I win the election, I will appoint a special task force to rapidly review the cases of every political prisoner who has been unjustly victimized by the Biden regime.’ President Trump has kept his promise. We applaud his pardon of 23 Americans unjustly thrown behind bars for peacefully protesting outside abortion clinics, and thank him for his swift action on this critical matter. We further support the repeal of the flawed FACE Act to end the weaponization and abuse of this law against Christians once and for all. As the President said, ‘Americans of faith are not a threat to our country. Americans of faith are the soul of our country.'”
