Karla Gascon, the star of Emilia Perez, one of the big winners. Mr. Gascon is a man who thinks he’s a woman.
The movie is about a Mexican drug lord who undergoes gender affirmation surgery. It was the most nominated film of the night – and picked up four awards.
Mr. Gascon also won a best actress prize last Spring at the Cannes Film Festival in France – beating out actual females for top honors.
The Golden Globes also featured a musical performance celebrating sex change operations.
And then there was Jonathan Van Ness sashaying down the red carpet wearing an emerald green gown. Mr. Van Ness sported a full beard and exposed his hairy chest.
The star of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy identifies as a non-binary person. He’s also the hair dresser of Dylan Mulvaney – the guy who destroyed the Bud. Light brand.

Lots of social media fans thought Van Ness was up for a nomination as Best Circus Sideshow Performance.
