Bath & Body Works Apologizes for KKK Candle

EDITOR’S NOTE: I am partnering with Food For the Poor to help our fellow Americans in North Carolina and East Tennessee. Click here to learn how you can help.

Bath and Body Works is in hot water with the Southern Poverty Law Center.

It turns out their new winter-themed candle design bears a striking resemblance to the hoods and robes worn by the Ku Klux Klan. You can see a photo of the candle on my website.

The candle was advertised as “Snowed In” – an exclusively fragranced soy wax blend.

What was supposed to be a snowflake design triggered every professional race baiter in the nation.

Critics called it a Klandle. Get it? Klandle?

Bath and Body Works has since pulled the candle and offered an apology. They said any resemblance to the Klan was unintentional.

“At Bath & Body Works, we are committed to listening to our teams and customers, and committed to fixing any mistakes we make — even those that are unintentional like this one,” the company said in an email sent to CBS MoneyWatch. “We apologize to anyone we’ve offended and are swiftly working to have this item removed and are evaluating our process going forward.”

For those who are curious about what white supremacy smells like – the candle emits a fragrance that Bath and Body Works describes as “cozy vanilla.”

“I’m pretty sure Bath & Body works didn’t envision anything other than a snowflake. That being said, I can’t unsee the reason they have been pulled from shelves,” one commenter noted on X, the former Twitter.

Don’t be surprised if Bath & Body Works does not play “White Christmas” in stores this upcoming holiday season.
