The Hollywood producer behind Glee and American Horror Story has declared war on politicians who support traditional marriage and oppose letting men who identify as women use the ladies room.
Ryan Murphy declared war during a politically-charged address at a pro-LGBT gala in Los Angeles.
“I want these hateful and wrong politicians to go and to stop polluting our moral and ethical ether,” he said, according to a transcript provided to Starnes Country. “Based on this fall, I think it’s now possible to create a movement to protect and nourish our own.”
Murphy announced that his new multi-million dollar organization that will “target anti-LGBTQ candidates running for office.”
“Why don’t we consider ever targeting the people that are causing the problem here,” he said. “The homophobes, the trans naysayers and the small, restricted and dangerous minds who are causing so many young people to needlessly hate themselves and doubt themselves in our country, when what they should be receiving from us is love and support and understanding.”
He said they will initially target 20 national leaders including Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Rep. Steve King (R-IA).
“Mr. Lee is a future leader of the GOP who just committed himself to the bad old days by introducing what has been called ‘the vilest, anti-LGBTQ religious freedom bill of our time,’ so we want to say we see you, Mike Lee,” Murphy warned.
And then the Hollywood producer issued this ominous threat:
“We are going to send a message which says you cannot make discrimination against us a political virtue anymore. You cannot keep killing our vulnerable young people by promoting and nationalizing your rural, close-minded anti-constitutional viewpoints.”
Rural?
That’s code for all of you gun-toting, Bible-clinging, patriots who live in the Heartland. People like Murphy think church-going Midwesterners and Southerners are wicked people who must be silenced.
Murphy is not the first anti-Christian, multi-millionaire to use his cash to bully and badger people of faith.
Tim Gill, a software programmer, committed $500 million to fight religious liberty bills across the nation and to silence Christian bakers and florists and wedding planners.
And I would encourage Christians to read every word of this disturbing Rolling Stone profile.
“We’re going into the hardest states in the country,” he says. “We’re going to punish the wicked.”
And by ‘wicked” he means every American who believes believes marriage is between one man and one woman.
Chilling.
And just like Gill, Murphy wants to punish politicians who he believes are imposing their moral and ethical ether on the nation. And he’s going to punish them by imposing his own moral and ethical ether on the nation.
