Unmasked voters are reportedly being turned away from polling places in Virginia, but the GOP says “masks are not required to vote.”
“They were trying to require masks at my polling place in a jurisdiction with no mask mandate in place,” Mark Hemingway, senior writer at RealClearInvestigations, tweeted along with a screenshot of a text.
“To be clear, if someone is not wearing a face covering they may NOT be turned away or refused their right to vote,” the Virginia GOP wrote in a tweet.
The state does not have a mask mandate in place.
