Ambassador Nikki Haley is making headlines across the nation these days. Her campaign is on the rise. And there’s even talk that she might be a vice presidential running mate for former President Trump.
Should, of course, Mr. Trump win the Republican nomination (which he will).
But we might want to tap the brakes on such talk – at least just for now.
Ambassador Haley has a bad habit of saying one thing and doing another.
Over the past few days she has been winning applause for her tough talk on the border. But that’s not the same position she held in 2015.
Back then she was telling Republican voters that we should embrace the people invading our nation and that it was unkind and offensive to call them illegal aliens.
So I think that what we have to remember and what I’ve always believed is that we’re a country of laws. That is what’s made us strong so it’s incredibly frustrating for a lot of people when they see the illegal immigrants being able to come across. It really is astonishing that after all these years, D.C. can’t figure out how to build a wall. It really is, after all of what they spend.
Having said that, we are a country of immigrants. I am the proud daughter of Indian parents who reminded us every day how blessed we are to live in this country. They resent when people come here illegally. But let’s keep in mind, these people who are wanting to come here, they’re wanting to come for a better life too. They have kids too. They have a heart too, so we don’t need to be disrespectful. We don’t need to talk about them as criminals, they’re not. They’re families that want a better life and they’re desperate to get here.
What we need to do is make sure we have a set of laws that we follow and we go through with that. I think that some things have been said that are unfortunate and wrong but I think we also need to remember, especially for all of us … tone and communication matters and people matter. We don’t ever need to talk about this in a cold-hearted way … be kinder than necessary.

But that’s exactly what the illegals are — they are criminals.
“Someone let [Nikki Haley] know that if you cross the border illegally, you are by definition a criminal,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) wrote on X.
The Trump campaign released a scathing 30-second ad attacking Haley’s multiple positions on the border.
“Record numbers streaming across our border costing taxpayers billions, and almost as many Americans killed from fentanyl as killed in World War II, yet Haley and Biden oppose Trump’s border wall,” a male voice says in the video, which was shared by Medium Buying on X.

Trump Ad Hits Nikki Haley’s Immigration ‘Weakness’

Former President Donald Trump’s new campaign ad calls out Nikki Haley’s “weakness” with immigration and ties the former U.N. Ambassador to President Joe Biden when it comes to the southern border’s migrant crisis.
The 30-second video ad is running in New Hampshire, where a recent survey showed that Haley has moved within 4 percentage points of Trump, currently the front-runner for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination.
“Record numbers streaming across our border costing taxpayers billions, and almost as many Americans killed from fentanyl as killed in World War II, yet Haley and Biden oppose Trump’s border wall,” a male voice says in the video, which was shared by Medium Buying on X.
“Confirmed warnings of terrorists sneaking in through our southern border, yet Haley joined Biden in opposing Trump’s visitor ban from terrorist nations. Haley’s weakness puts us in grave danger. Trump’s strength protects us.”
Ambassador Haley owes it to voters to tell us which side of the border her allegiances lie.
