The mother of a military veteran who was murdered in Manhattan slammed left-wing politicians who called her a “prop” of the GOP.
Madeline Brame’s son, U.S. Army Sgt. Hason Correa, was brutally stabbed and murdered by gang members in Harlem in 2018. The slain veteran’s father, Wesley Correa, was stabbed 12 times in the attack but survived.
When Alvin Bragg became the Manhattan DA, he inherited the case from his predecessor Cy Vance Jr. but failed to prosecute the perpetrators.
Following Bragg’s indictment of former President Trump, House Republicans, led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, held a field hearing in NYC to spotlight the victims of Bragg’s soft-on crime policies.
Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA), who sat on the bench of the field hearing, called Brame and other victims of NYC crime Republican “props” in a “MAGA Broadway production” designed to defend Trump as a result of his indictment.
Brame appeared on “Hannity” Monday night, slammed Johnson for his comment, and challenged the congressman to “step one foot in the hood.”
“Step one foot in the hood and tell me if those people there in that hood are props as well,” Brame, who is a black woman, said.
She went on to slam Bragg for dismissing the case.
“Real people are affected by this, Alvin Bragg dismissed both murder and gang assault indictments against two people,” Brame continued. “One is currently walking the street amongst us… They brutally ambushed and butchered my son to death nine times and then turned and butchered his father 12 times when he tried to come to his aid.”
The murder of Brame’s son was caught on video. She told Hannity the DA’s office told her they could not prosecute her son’s murderers, in part, due to a lack of resources.
Nevertheless, the city is willing to use its resources to target former President Trump.
