The chief of staff for Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) turned in her resignation Wednesday, Breitbart News first reported.
Mara Mellstrom, Mace’s chief of staff and campaign manager, stepped down to pursue a “new opportunity in the private sector” new year, according to The Hill.
“This has been in the works for some time. Mara Mellstrom will be beginning a new opportunity in the private sector in the new year. Congresswoman Mace thanks her for two incredible years of service,” Daniel Hanlon, Mace’s new chief who had served as deputy chief of staff, said.
The announcement came a day after Mace had a war of words with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on the Todd Starnes Radio Show.
Mace told host Todd Starnes she’s not going to be bullied by Greene, who called her “trash” earlier on the program.
“It’s utterly ridiculous…she’s not going to bully me or anybody else in our conference,” Mace said. Listen to the full interview below.
