Fox News host Laura Ingraham and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) advised former President Trump to cancel his Mar-a-Lago press conference on the anniversary of Jan. 6, Axios reports.
The outlet says several key allies “made clear they thought it was a bad idea to invite the national media to Mar-a-Lago to mark the deadly riot.”
Graham told Axios he warned Trump during a golf match in West Palm Beach over the weekend.
And on Monday night during her show, Ingraham asked Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) if it was “smart for President Trump to do a rally on that particular day.” Below is part of his answer:
Trump announced his cancelation Tuesday night in a statement.
“In light of the total bias and dishonesty of the January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats, two failed Republicans, and the Fake News Media, I am canceling the January 6th Press Conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, and instead will discuss many of those important topics at my rally on Saturday, January 15th, in Arizona—It will be a big crowd!” Trump said in part.
