The following is a transcript of Todd’s morning radio commentary.
Hello Americans. I’m Todd Starnes with news and commentary next.
Parts of California are under a de-facto state of martial law.
China Virus lockdowns. No indoor dining. Gyms shut down. Curfews in place. Very sad. Very un-American. But this is life under Democrat rule.
Sheila Kuehl is a member of the LA County Board of Supervisors. She said it’s simply too dangerous to eat inside or outside.
“This is a serious health emergency and we must take it seriously,” Kuehl said. “The servers are not protected from us, and they’re not protected from their other tables that they’re serving at that particular time, plus all the hours in which they’re working.”
Just hours after casting a vote to ban all outdoor dining – Supervisor Kuehl was spotted eat at a fancy Italian restaurant (wait for it) – outdoors.
Not very cool, Supervisor Kuehl.
The supervisor’s spokesperson defended her dining decision in a statement to Fox Los Angeles.
“She did dine al fresco at Il Forno on the very last day it was permissible. She loves Il Forno, has been saddened to see it, like so many restaurants, suffer from a decline in revenue. She ate there, taking appropriate precautions, and sadly will not dine there again until our Public Health Orders permit.”
It’s not surprising that Democrat lawmakers have demonstrated a stunning lack of self awareness during the global pandemic.
Governor Gavin Newsom got caught feasting at a fancy restaurant in wine country.
CNN anchor Chris Fredo Cuomo got caught trotting around the Hamptons without a face mask.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock told citizens not to travel before flying cross-country to visit his family.
It’s a heaping helping of hypocrisy, ladies and gentlemen. Lockdowns for thee, but not for me.

EXCLUSIVE: Just hours after L.A. County Supervisor @SheilaKuehl voted to ban all outdoor dining last Tuesday, which she described as “a most dangerous situation”, we’ve learned that she dined outdoors at Il Forno Trattoria in Santa Monica. https://t.co/8IOtAcpV50 @FOXLA
