Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) raised the issue of censoring information that might offend the general thinking of the Biden Administration with regard to the bank crisis.
The senator asked during a meeting about the bailout of Silicon Valley Bank whether social media could be censored to prevent misinformation going out that could lead to a bank run.

Rep. Dan Bishop’s office confirmed to The Todd Starnes Show that Kelly was the one who asked the question.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) also alerted the nation to the senator’s attempt at censorship.
“Just got off a Zoom meeting with Fed, Treasury, FDIC, House and Senate,” Massie tweeted on Sunday. “A Democrat Senator essentially asked whether there was a program in place to censor information on social media that could lead to a run on the banks.”
Rep. Ben Kline (R-VA) discussed the meeting during an interview on The Todd Starnes Radio Show. Following, is a rush transcript.

TODD: [00:57:28] Congressman, real quick. So many things we want to touch on with you. But of course, this crazy story involving the banks, President Biden coming out, did he did he reassure the nation in your estimation?
KLINE: [00:57:44] No, Biden definitely does not reassure the nation every day. I think the nation grows more concerned about the capabilities of Joe Biden. But what we do know is that the laws that are in place are enough to secure our institutions and make sure that that people’s deposits will be protected. Now, do we have to change the system or get government more involved bailing out bad decisions? No, we don’t. And we shouldn’t be pushing bailouts and those who made their bad decisions in California with the Silicon Valley Bank or in New York with the bank, that that just failed. They both have bad decisions on their directors heads and those people need to be held accountable.
TODD: [00:58:40] Congressman Thomas Massie tweeted out a little while ago that there was some sort of a Zoom call or something. And with with lawmakers, the FDIC and a Democrat senator actually asked whether or not there was some way to censor news and information on Twitter because there were fears that Twitter might spark some sort of a run on the banks. Were you a part of those conversations? You hear anything like that?
KLINE: [00:59:07] I did. I heard those comments made and immediately they got pushback from Republican House members who were outraged by even the suggestion that we somehow censor online comments. That’s ridiculous. And we will continue to push against the censorship of the right as they have been trying to do on the left for so long.
