Anyone seeking shelter from the Memphis ice storm must take a COVID test, according to the Democrats who run City Hall.
Tens of thousands of Memphians are without power and it could be days before MLGW restores electricity to the city.
It’s virtually impossible to find a hotel room anywhere in the Mid-South so many citizens are seeking refuge in city shelters.
There’s just one big problem: if you don’t take a COVID test, you won’t be allowed inside.

A message posted on the city’s website states that about t127 residents were sheltered at the Hickory Hill Community Center.
“Due to COVID precautions, all persons seeking entry into the center will be required to take a COVID test as well as adhere to social distancing guidance. Masking is strongly encouraged for all persons in the center,” the message read.
Shelby County Commissioner Tami Sawyer, who has no control over city decisions, alerted residents in a Twitter post.
“Please be aware that most warming centers and places open to the public for heat & electricity require masks,” the leftist lawmaker wrote. “Shelters and city run warming centers require proof of negative COVID19 test. Results from Rapid tests are allowable at most places.”
“I shared that the tests are being required because folks told me they were turned away at some places,” she wrote in a later tweet.
Perhaps Mayor Strickland (a Democrat) could tell us how many taxpayers have been turned away from emergency shelters because of their Covid status?
As it now stands, residents of Memphis have a choice: they can either freeze to death or they can get the China Virus test.
