RuPaul, the host of RuPaul’s Drag Race, won an Emmy for ‘Outstanding Competition Program,’ becoming the first black person to win 11 Emmys.
The famed drag queen then used his Emmy speech to encourage children to become drag queens.
“Thanks to all of our lovely children on our show from around the world,” RuPaul said. “They are so gracious to tell their stories of courage and how to navigate this difficult life.even more difficult today.”
This is for you and you kids out there watching, he said.
“You have a tribe that is waiting for you,” he said. “We are waiting for you, baby. Come on to Mama Ru.”
Are you paying attention, moms and dads?
RuPaul is now the most-decorated Black artist since the #Emmys began in 1949.
