DEVELOPING STORY: Tucker Carlson, fresh off his firing from Fox News, has announced his next move. Watch video below.
He’s making that next move through Twitter, announcing in a recent video on Tuesday that he will be taking his talk show and other future projects to the social media platform.
In a nearly three-minute video, the former top Fox News host revealed the new direction while he lambasted the stranglehold of mainstream media.
“Twitter has long served as the place where our national conversation incubates and develops. Twitter is not a partisan site, everybody’s allowed here. We think that’s a good thing,” Carlson said.
“Starting soon, we’ll be bringing a new version of the show we’ve been doing for the last six-and-a-half years to Twitter,” he continued. “We’ll be bringing some other things to, which we’ll tell you about, but for now we’re just grateful to be here.”
Adding more detail to his rational for the leap, he insisted that most of the time, the news people consume is a lie. Even if, in the most literal scnse, the data points are accurate, they may not convey the truth of a situation in a broader sense, with facts withheld or manipulated. That makes these reports “a lie of the stealthiest and most insidious kind.”
This is done, he said, in every story that matters, Now, he’s positioning himself as an alternative on a platform that’ll free him up to focus on that oft-misrepresented truth.
