A synagogue in Tucson, Arizona was targeted by anti-Semitic thugs today.
“I’m a complete mess in tears as I wrote this,” State Rep. Alma Hernandez wrote on Twitter. “I just got off the phone with my Rabbi. Our synagogue was vandalized.”
Unknown thugs threw a rock through a glass door.
“This was not an accident,” she wrote. “Send prayers our way. It’s just the beginning.”
The vandalism happened at Congregation Chaverim at some point between 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Tucson Police Department.
“Someone deliberately, purposefully went to do this,” she told the Arizona Republic. “That’s what’s so unsettling and makes us feel so unsafe.”
