President Trump was smacked in the face with a microphone during an impromptu press gathering on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews.

The president was taking questions when a boom mic hit him in the face. The president handled the incident with class but appeared to be a tad bit irritated.

“She just became a big story tonight,” the president said. “Did you see that?” Watch the incident below:

Investigative journalist Laura Loomer identified the clumsy journalist as NPR White House correspondent Danielle Kurtzleben. Why in the world NPR assign a 26-year-old to such a lofty position is beyond me.

The reporter could be hurt offering an immediate apology, but many are wondering if the NPR intentionally tried to harm the president.

Kurtzleben has a long history of attacking President Trump and his policies. In 2023 she wrote screed arguing that Trump echoed language “used by Adolf Hitler.” She said the president’s tone “raises questions about authoritarianism rising in the U.S.”

Loomer published a deep dive into Kurtzleben’s journalism at NPR and what she uncovered is troubling.

“How on Earth did NPR reporter Danielle Kurtzleben get approved to be a White House pool reporter,” Loomer wrote on X. “She has a well-documented history of being a massive Trump hater and advocate of trans issues.”

“I don’t think the mic in Trump’s face was an accident,” Loomer added.

Loomer raises some valid points. Why didn’t the White House pool reporters identify the guilty party? Has NPR provided a written apology to the president? And will the White House pulls Kurtzleben’s credentials?

This is yet another reason why Congress should defund NPR and PBS. Why is our tax money being used to fund their anti-Trump propagandists? What’s the hold up, Speaker Johnson? How many more times does President Trump have to get smacked in the face before the Republicans cut of NPR’s purse strings?

I’m glad President Trump was not injured by the clumsy NPR reporterette. And we should be counting our blessings that it wasn’t worse. She could’ve been packing one of those NPR tote bags or giant umbrellas.
