DEVELOPING STORY: At least three Dallas police officers were shot late Thursday night in the line of duty and the Dallas Morning news reports one of the officers has died.
The shooting happened at 10:10 p.m. in the Oak Cliff section of the city.
The gunman escaped but was later shot and killed.
Television station WFAA reports two officers are at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in downtown Dallas, and the third is at Dallas Methodist. The officers are in serious condition.
There is a significant police presence at both hospitals.
After the officers were shot, a chase ensued toward Lewisville where the suspect was shot, the television station reported. This is a developing story and more details will be posted.
