When discussing presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s view on racism, Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), recalled an alleged incident of a white man preventing her from entering the congressional elevator. Watch below.
According to the California representative, a white man tried to prevent her from entering the congressional elevator, even after showing her congressional pin, in which the man accused her of stealing.
“This is an example of personal racism, and people of color constantly have to deal with this every day,” Lee told the CNN host.
Not everyone is buying the congresswoman’s story, however. Radio host Todd Starnes is one of those people.
“Did the white man yell, ‘This is MAGA country’? Was he accompanied by two Nigerian bodybuilders? Was he eating a tuna sandwich from Subway? Did she discover a noose inside the elevator? Were the walls covered in racist graffiti?” Starnes asked his daily listeners.
“Is anybody buying what the congresswoman is selling?” Starnes concluded.
