The owner of a Memphis restaurant known for its “barbecue tofu” is going to play China virus hardball with customers and employees.
On September 1 all diners at RP Tracks must show their vaccination papers or they will not be allowed inside the diner.
“We would do it sooner except, first of all, we’re hoping that these crazy numbers are lower by then and it’s not something we have to do,” said co-owner Mary Laws told the Daily Memphian.
She also said that workers must either get the vaccine or find another place of employment.
“And we also have to get all our employees fully vaccinated before we require it of our guests,” she told the newspaper. “We’ve told them they have to get their vaccine or we’ll give them a letter of recommendation. There are plenty of restaurants hiring, so no one has to go without a job. But we’re going to have full compliance here.”
