The nose wheel of a Boeing 757 passenger jet popped off and rolled down the runway at Atlanta’s international airport the other day.
Nobody was seriously injured in the blowout – but nerves were clearly rattled.
This after a passenger on another jetliner noticed that a number of bolts were missing from the wing of an airplane.
And then there was the Alaska Airlines flight – where a section of the wall gave way in midair – nearly sucking passengers out of the airplane.
The incidents highlighting the fact that many airlines and airplane manufacturers have been focused more on diversity hires.
So now every time an American boards a jetliner – we have to wonder whether the pilot was a diversity hire or if he can actually take off and land the plane.
And we also have to wonder if the people in charge of building and maintaining the airplanes know the difference between a lug nut and a flathead screwdriver.
