President Trump warned Harvard University that it could and should lose its tax-exempt status.
“Perhaps Harvard should lose its tax exempt status and be taxed as a political entity if it keeps pushing political, ideological and terrorist inspired/supporting ‘sickness,’” he wrote on social media. “Remember, tax exempt status is totally contingent on acting in the public interest.”
In a letter sent to Harvard last week, the administration called for the university to implement broad changes to its governance, such as establishing new disciplinary actions against student protesters, decertifying pro-Palestinian student groups and closing its diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
Harvard announced yesterday they would defy President Trump’s order to crack down on anti-Semitic protests on campus.
In doing so – the world’s wealthiest university risks losing all of its federal tax money.
According to the New York Post, Harvard stands to lose as much as $9 billion. So far, the Trump administration has frozen $2 billion in funding.
Former President Barack Obama praised the university and said they are setting an example for other higher-education institutions. He accused Trump of being unlawful and ham-handed.

“Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions — rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking concrete steps to make sure all students at Harvard can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect,” Obama wrote Monday night on X. “Let’s hope other institutions follow suit.”
Let’s be clear – Obama is siding with the Jew-haters.
The Education Department fired back saying universities must protect Jewish students if they want to continue receiving taxpayer support.
And that’s where the administration loses me. Taxpayers should not be sending Harvard a single penny – much less $9 billion.
If Harvard is going to continue to discriminate against Jewish and Christian students, they can do so on their own dime. Or maybe they should ask Hamas for a donation.
