U.S. Border Patrol agents were ordered to leave a high school job fair in California.

NBC News in Palm Springs reported that the agents had been regular participants in the career and job fair at. Coachella Valley High School. After they had set up their table the principal showed up and ordered to to pack up and leave the campus.

“No warning,” NBC News report. “No explanation. Just – get out of here.”

Border Patrol agents acted professionally, complied with the principal’s order and quietly left the school building.

U.S. Border Patrol Sector Chief Gregory Bovino posted his disgust at the principal’s behavior on X.

“Agendas in Schools? After being invited to a career fair @ Coachella Valley High, the principal told our recruiter to leave – no explanation given,” he wrote. “Students depend on leadership promoting an environment of learning and creativity, not agenda driven edicts.”

Soon after the post went viral, the Coachella Valley Unified School District apologized and said the principal acted on his own without district approval.

“We want to make it very clear that we do not condone this behavior, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken with the involved staff members to ensure this does not happen again,” the district said in a statement.

“Our students have greatly appreciated the valuable interactions and insights they have gained from learning about careers in Law Enforcement and the Border Patrol,” it continued. “We recognize the importance of providing our students with real-world career options and opportunities.”

Regardless, many citizens in Coachella Valley defended the principal and said the Border Patrol should have been removed from the campus.

“I completely agree with the principals decision, our community is scared of any type of interaction with BP. We need to watch out for the wellbeing of our students,” one woman wrote on Facebook.

“Your job is to protect the feelings of the students not border patrol,” another citizen wrote. “If their presence will cause trauma to students why would you allow them on campus ? Who makes that decision? How irresponsible is that. Thank goodness for the principal.”

Neither students nor their parents have any reason to be scared of interactions with Border Patrol — unless they are living in our nation illegally.

As for the principal, he should’ve been fired on the spot. Keep the Border Patrol agents. Toss the principal.
