Did you know that two plus two equals you’re gay?
That’s according to a math class at a high school in Rancho Buena Vista, California.
The teacher is under fire for a diversity, equity and inclusion exercise.
According to photos of the instruction, students were told, “Stand in a circle. Each of you is now gay or lesbian, and you are about to begin your coming out process. You cannot talk for the rest of this activity.”
At least six students walked out of the class in protest. Parents later complained to school board members.
“I don’t see how this is part of the California curriculum for education,” parent James Leon told board members. “There is nothing that it does other than groom children.”
“It’s not okay. It’s disgusting and it should not be allowed,” he added. “I don’t think this assignment should ever be taught to any children. It’s does not do anything other than groom them. It should not be allowed. Anybody who teaches this should be fired immediately.”
“I am totally disgusted,” a district bus driver told local reporters. “I am ashamed I work for the district, and you guys allow this to happen in our schools.”
I completely understand why parents are concerned, but I’m a bit surprised that the Alphabet Activists were not also upset – over the lack of diversity.
Why were kids only allowed to be gay or lesbian? What about transgender or nonbinary or two spirit or gender-queer or gender non-comforming or intersex or pansexual or third gender or polygender?
