Embattled Harvard President Claudine Gay will keep her job – at least for now.
She gained the unanimous support of Harvard’s highest governing board. More than 700 faculty members also signed a petition backing the president.
Gay has been under fire over her handling of antisemtiic protests on campus. And most recently by multiple allegations of plagiarism.
Donors are threatening to withhold hundreds of millions of dollars in funding. And Jewish students are considering whether or not it is safe for them to remain on campus.
But let’s get real – Claudine Gay was a diversity, equity and inclusion hire.
Just imagine if a straight, white Harvard president had not only plagiarized his dissertation, but allowed white supremacists to march through campus calling for the genocide of minorities.
Imagine if that same white president testified before Congress that such behavior was permissible within context.
The president would’ve been fired, brought up on federal hate crime charges and the Dept. of Education would have padlocked Harvard’s front doors.
