Folks across the Mid-South are astonished at the extreme measures taken by parents after someone tested positive for coronavirus at a middle school.
The employee worked at Treadwell Elementary School and Middle School in Memphis, Fox 13 reported.
So far the worker has not displayed any symptoms of the illness and has been placed on a 14-day quarantine.
Some parents, meanwhile, have taken some rather unusual to ensure their children’s safety.
Child Sprayed With Bleach
Fox 13 reporter Jacque Masse broadcast video showing one parent literally spraying a child with disinfectant.
“Many wiped their kids down and some even sprayed them with disinfectant as they took them home Monday,” she reported.
“Don’t nobody want their child to be sick. Don’t nobody want to take the virus to their house,” one parent told the television station. “I wiped my children back down, sure did. Gave them gloves, sure did.
Parent Covers Herself With Plastic Bags
One woman wrapped herself from head-to-toe in plastic garbage bags – hoping that might might stave off the coronavirus.
“Two garbage bags,” she said as she described her disease prevention get-up. “Two sacks. Another sack.”
Reaction from Fox 13 viewers was off the charts.
“I’m dying!!!! This is hysterical. The poor kid that got sprayed in the face with Clorox is who I’m more concerned about. That can’t be good for him,” one viewer wrote.
“Have to love Memphis, always keeping it real,” wrote another. “But really, I think that man sprayed his son in the face with bleach.”
