The owner of Love That Olive, a Minnesota store that specializes in products from Italy and Greece, has apologized after a staffer kicked out two Trump supporters.

The staffer, who was not identified, was captured March 16 on video cursing at two customers, one of whom was wearing a Trump shirt.

“I don’t respect your vote. I don’t respect the shirt. Get the f*** out,” the enraged staffer told the customer.

The owner of the store was horrified and posted a message later that day apologizing and announcing that the profane employee had been fired.

“Regardless of your political views, rude behavior and foul language is never acceptable, and that employee has been terminated,” the owner wrote on the store’s Facebook page. “To those that don’t know me, I hope you can respect that a single employee’s momentary bad behavior is not a reflection of my small business.”

The owner also reached out to the customers in the video to make things right.

“I have worked so hard to build up this business over the last 15 years and to have a momentary lapse in judgement by one employee damage a reputation that I’ve spent years building is gut-wrenching,” she added.

Just the other day another Trump supporter was ordered to leave a popular jazz club in Indianapolis because she was wearing a Trump cap. Click here to read that story.

The owner of Love That Olive asked folks in Maple Grove to respect “that a single employee’s momentary bad behavior is not a reflection of my small business.”

And it certainly appears, based on social media posts, that local shoppers have embraced “Love That Olive.”

  • One bad apple doesn’t spoil the whole bunch. Keep on shining Terri
  • Classy lady yesterday, today and forever! Kindness always wins and you are a winner!
  • You handled this all with grace! You have done a fabulous job building your store and reputation, and your passion and dedication to your store and customers can never be disputed!
  • Discussions or mentions of political preferences has no place in a business that serves all. The employee should have kept his opinion to himself in your establishment. “Your house, your rules”. I will continue shopping at your store, Terri.
  •  I am so sorry this happened, it is entirely undeserved. You are the example of integrity and kindness we all strive to be. You will always rise above!! Much love.

It seems to me that this unfortunate incident was handled appropriately. The anti-Trump employee was fired, the owner extended an olive branch to the offended customers and the community once again loves that olive.
