FLAGSTOCK! John Rich to Host Concert at UNC for Frat Brothers

John Rich, the country music superstar, is a great American patriot. And he’s also a man of his word.

A few months ago a mob of anti-American criminals stormed the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The mob tried to tear down an American flag on the campus quad.

A group of fraternity brothers saw what was happening and intervened. The young men surrounded the flag and made sure Old Glory was not desecrated by the savage mob.

They were pelted with rocks and bottles, but the young men stood their ground.

That moment became a symbol of next-generation patriotism. Many others were inspired by the frat bro’s courage under fire. They were honored at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. And soon, they will be honored at UNC-Chapel Hill by John Rich. He’s calling it “Flagstock 2024.”

It’s a free concert to celebrate the fraternity brothers starring Big & Rich, Aaron Lewis, Five For Fighting and Lee Greenwood. Patriots all. And proud to be an American.

“What I was really struck about was that those boys were concerned about the flag touching the ground,” Rich told me during a recent interview on my national radio show. “Anybody that’s ever been trained properly about the American flag, which used to be a prerequisite in this country to know how to handle the flag, is you never under any circumstances, let the flag touch the ground. And that’s what they were doing. They were keeping it up off the ground. They were keeping its dignity and its respect intact.”

Former President Ronald Reagan once said that our national anthem is one of the few in the world that does not made a declaration. Instead, the “Star-Spangled Banner” is a series of questions. Is the flag still there? Is the flag still standing?

Reagan would say in another speech that freedom is not passed along in our bloodstream. Every generation of Americans must fight to secure freedom and liberty.

Those statements became the thesis of my new book, “Twilight’s Last Gleaming: Can America Be Saved?” And I contend that with red-blooded American patriots like the fraternity brothers at UNC-Chapel Hill, America can indeed be saved. Click here to read my book.
