If you’ve got an emergency in San Francisco, don’t expect the police to answer the call.

After the liberal city’s vaccine mandate took effect Monday, at least 120 police officers and even more city officials were put on leave, according to the local media.

Mayor London Breed (D) won’t budge, despite officers citing religious reasons and concerns about the vaccine. Instead, she told reporters the city’s human resource department will step up to the plate to help people.

CBS San Francisco reports that calls “will be left unanswered.”

Tracy McCray, vice president of the San Francisco Police Officers Association told reports it would “put quite a dent into operations.”

“If you take 120 cops—or even more—off the street, what do you think is gonna happen?” McCray said, adding that officers will have to weigh the gravity of which emergencies to respond to.
