The other day I was in Macy’s flagship department store in New York City’s Herald Square. After I paid my bill, the clerk wished me “Happy Holidays.” I smiled and replied, “Which one? Arbor Day? Veteran’s Day? Groundhog Day?” Heaven forbid she offend someone and wish them a “Merry Christmas.”

Well, a new Rasmussen Poll indicates a majority of Americans would prefer to hear the words “Merry Christmas” over “Happy Holidays.” You can read the poll data by clicking here.
